CIS 5.2

Word processing with Word! Spreadsheets with Excel! Data manipulation with Access! PowerPoint presentations! These are the tools used in nearly every office and in millions of homes. Be prepared for your career with the basic computer tools used worldwide. There is no prerequisite for this course!

 

These courses are open to students of all majors and interests. You already have the prerequisites for all these courses. We’d love to have you join us again.

A course about the ethics of using computers and of developing computer applications. Nearly every day, legal and ethical issues surrounding computer use appear in the press. Examine these fascinating issues, and become equipped to form your own informed opinion. This is a writing-intensive course.

Prerequisite: Either CC 3.12 or Core 5.1 or CIS 1.0 or CIS 1.5, and English 2.

 

 

CIS 10: Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence

 

Explore what intelligence is and whether it can be created artificially. A fascinating exploration of philosophy, psychology and computer science. Stretch your cognitive capacity on a topic at the forefront of intellectual discussion.

 

Prerequisite: Either CC 3.12 or Core 5.1 or CIS 1.0, and either CC 2.1 or Core 10
