CIS 3.1 Lab #5 : Photoshop Design

Take the bird image (right click and select Save) and do the following to it:

  1. Rotate it 45 degrees clockwise so the image is straight.
  2. Crop out the bird.
  3. Resize the new image so that it's height is now 200 pixels tall. Make sure you scale the image proportionally.

A Simple background:

  1. Open a new document
  2. Fill the background with a color
  3. Go to filters, noise, add noise. Play with the settings until you get a desired result. Lower percent amounts look better.
  4. If you'd like to blur the background, you can go to Filers, Blur, Gaussian, and choose a radius around .5 to 1 or so. Very low radius numbers are needed

Save your simple background as a background for a web page if you wish.

Lets make a simple page logo:

  1. Make a text layer with the name of your site or something. Try various fonts and colors and sizes.
  2. Layer, Layer Effect, then select an effect. Experiment with different effect and styling options until you have a look you like.

Save your logo for your web page if you wish.
