CIS 3.1 Lab #5 : Photoshop Design
Take the bird image (right click and select Save)
and do the following to it:
- Rotate it 45 degrees clockwise so the image is straight.
- Crop out the bird.
- Resize the new image so that it's height is now 200 pixels tall.
Make sure you scale the image proportionally.
A Simple background:
- Open a new document
- Fill the background with a color
- Go to filters, noise, add noise. Play with the settings until you get a
desired result. Lower percent amounts look better.
- If you'd like to blur the background, you can go to Filers, Blur, Gaussian,
and choose a radius around .5 to 1 or so. Very low radius numbers are needed
Save your simple background as a background for a web page if you wish.
Lets make a simple page logo:
- Make a text layer with the name of your site or something. Try various fonts
and colors and sizes.
- Layer, Layer Effect, then select an effect. Experiment with different effect
and styling options until you have a look you like.
Save your logo for your web page if you wish.
Make a map
- Make a simple navigation bar in photoshop. Place a series text statements
in a row or column. Such as the image below:
You should have at least 2 choices, otherwise it's just an image hyperlink.
Do not use the above image, make your own.
- Open the image in Dreamweaver and then highlight it.
- Fill in a map name in the properties of the image.
- Select a selection tool, a rectangle is the easiest. Then select the various
parts of the image to define the hot spots for the links.
- In the properties for each spot give an link and target. You can move the
hot spots around by dragging them with the arrow tool.
