"The cloud of incense will cover the Kapores"
The Ketores mixture included a plant called Maaleh Ashan. This plant caused the smoke to rise straight up. Only after the smoke spread across the ceiling and down the walls, was the Kohain Gadol allowed to leave. After leaving the Kodesh Hakodoshim, he said a short prayer for the welfare of the people.
