Masters Programs at Brooklyn College

    The CIS department offers three different Masters programs:

    1. An M.A. in Computer Science.

      This is designed for students interested in system development, advanced applications and research. The program focuses on advanced techniques and methodologies in addition to applying standard tools.

      The program is also recommended for students who wish to pursue doctoral studies in computer science.

    2. An M.S. in Information Systems.

      This program is designed for students interested in the applications of computer science to the practical information systems needed for business and administration. The theory of computing is presented with an eye towards practical applications.

      The program is recommended for students who wish to understand the use of computers as a management tool, the place of computers in an organization, an the organization of complex computer systems.

    3. A B.S.-M.P.S in Economics and Computer and Information Science.

      Students must enter this program as an undergraduate.

    The department offers a Graphics/Multimedia concentration for students in the M.A. program.

    The CIS department also offers an ADVANCED GRADUATE CERTIFICATE in Parallel and Distributed Programming
