Homework 3:  Make Your Own Home Page

Use HTML to create your own home page.

You must use HTML tags to create your page. You may not use FrontPage or Composer or any such program to create your page. Notepad is probably the best choice; here are some basic instructions on Notepad.

You are pretty much free to do as you wish in designing your own home page, as long as you include the following:

  1. your name
  2. one paragraph about anything you want
  3. a picture - you can find some Brooklyn College images here
  4. a list (of anything: the courses you are taking, your favorite books, etc.) It must have at least 3 items on the list.
  5. at least 3 links to other pages, with a description of why you chose those links,
  6. a simple table (a few rows, a few columns; more fancy stuff if you want).

These links may help you out (as will, of course, the readings in the coursepack):

What to hand in

  1. Print out a copy of your web page as it appears in the browser (click on the "print" button on top of the browser window.
  2. Print out a copy of the html file, with the HTML tags, as you see it in Notepad. (Open the file in Notepad, click on File, then Print)
Bring BOTH printouts to class on the due date.Do not email me your web pages!
