How do I submit my assignments?
You need to create an archive of your source code files (the ones that end in .cpp), and then email the archive to me.
If you are using a PC, please use WinZip (not WinRar) to create the archive.
WinZip is a Shareware program which you can download
from here, if it is not already installed on your Windows machine.
If you are using a MAC, you can use the File - Create Archive utility in the Finder.
Simply highlight each file you want to include in the archive by clicking once on the file's icon.
Then from the Finder, click on File - Create Archive and an archive file will be created with a
filename ending in .zip.

How do I work on programs at home?
- If you are using a PC at home, you can use
the CodeBlocks Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
Information about downloading and installing CodeBlocks can be found here:
http://www.sci.brooklyn.cuny.edu/~goetz/codeblocks/.
Quick-Start Instructions for using CodeBlocks without creating a project can be found here:
codeblocks-howto-no-project.pdf
If you want to use a project in CodeBlocks, then look at these Quick-Start Instructions:
codeblocks-howto-with-project.pdf
- If you are using a MAC at home, you
can use the Xcode Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
Information about downloading and installing Xcode (aka "Xcode
Developer Tools") can be found here:
http://developer.apple.com/technology/tools.html.
NOTE: Xcode also comes on the Mac OS X Install CDs, so you may not have to download it if you still have your CDs.
Quick-Start Instructions for using Xcode can be found here:
xcode-howto.pdf
- If you are using a MAC at home, you
can also use the Terminal application and the command line (as
I showed you in class at the beginning of the term).
Quick-Start Instructions for using the Mac Command Line can be found here:
mac-cmd-line-howto.pdf
NOTE: you still need to install the g++ compiler if you
use the command line.
The g++ compiler comes standard as part of the Xcode Developer Tools.
Information about installing Xcode is above.
Check out the course flyer!
During the semester, any announcements for the class will be placed here.
I hope you enjoy the semester and learn many cool things about controlling robots and computers!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns.
