5/17/2016 The final exam is on Thursday May 26, 1:00-3:00 PM in room 3127N .
4/21/2016 Exam 2 is scheduled for Thursday, May 5. Topics include: reference parameters, arrays (including comparing and searching arrays, passing arrays to functions as parameters, etc.), strings, history of computer science.
4/1/2016 Assignment #7 has been posted. Reminder to complete reading Chapter 7 in the text, and to complete the Codelab exercises on arrays.
3/7/2016 Class is cancelled on Thursday, March 24. There will be an extra programming assignment to replace this class.
3/7/2016 Exam 1 has been scheduled for Thursday, March 17. The exam will be on everything that we learned this semester. This includes: introduction, variables, data types, expressions, if-else, for-loop, while-loop, files for input/output, functions. In the Gaddis textbook, it includes Chapters 1 - 6.
2/4/2016 Homework #1 has been posted. It is due Thursday, Feb 11. Next Tuesday there is no class. Use the week to download and install CodeBlocks, read Chapters 1 and 2.1-2.5, and complete the homework assignment.
1/27/2016 Welcome to CISC 1110! This is the first programming course -- a gateway into the field of computer science. The department has a webpage for this course: see the link above on the left. You can find the syllabus and C++ compiler downloads at the Department website. Information specific to our section including announcements and lab and homework assignments can be found here. The first day of class is Tuesday, February 2. There is a departmental final for this course which will take place on: Thursday May 26, 1:00-3:00 PM. Please plan your vacation accordingly.
1/27/2016 This course requires at least 10-15 hours a week of programming outside of class. If you do not have time in your schedule, then please do not register for CISC 1110.
