Assignments Home Page

The Directory Structure All assignments are to be placed onto your account on vc13. Your account was preconfigured to contain two subdirectories below your home directory: public_html and private-- the former containing all files that are deployed for web access; the private directory contains ALL FILES associated with an assignment (including those files that were copied into public_html).

Beneath each of those two subdirectories should be a further hierarchy-- assignment_01, assignment_02, etc, and beneath those there may be additional directories-- for example part_01, part_02, etc, if there are several parts to the assignment. Within those directories, feel free to structure your assignment in any way you want-- but please make sure you use meaningful name for the files and any additional subdirectories.

Again, your public_html subdirectories will contain all the files that are published on the web for a particular assignment(applet classes, corresponding html files, etc). These directories must be accessible to all (so that they can be accessed via a browser) and thus only the absolutely necessary files should be placed here. Regardless of what you put in your public_html directories, copies of these files must remain in your private subdirectories.

How, When, and What to Submit Via Email

Assignments are due two (2) weeks after they are posted.

When you submit your labs/assignments, please attach all relevant files (in addition to leaving them on vc13).

  • When you are COMPLETELY done with the assignment (please do not send this email until ALL parts have been completed), send an email to me in the following format:
    • The subject should contain *** CISC 3120 *** Assignment #n COMPLETE (exactly like that please)
    • Include a link to your home page in the body of the email. This allows me to quickly get to your page
    • Please include your full name in your message body
