College rules prevent you from needing more than two of these when you are admitted as a matriculated graduate student.

  3. Can I apply to the program without having completed all the prerequisite courses?

    Yes.

You can be accepted as a matriculated Masters student if you have only 2 or less of the prerequisite courses remaining to complete.

If you need to complete more than 2 prerequisite courses then Brooklyn College rules prevent you from being admitted as a matriculated graduate student.

However, you can apply and be accepted as a non-degree student, complete the prerequisite requirements, and apply to become matriculated in the master's program.

  4. How do I apply?

All the information you need to know about application is provided by the Graduate Admissions Office.

Their information is on the web at:

    http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/web/admissions/graduate.php

  5. What is the deadline to submit my application?

The formal deadline for Spring admission is November 1st and for Fall admission is March 1st, though we will accept applications that we receive soon after either deadline.

  6. How can I transfer to Brooklyn College as a Masters student?

First you need to apply to Brooklyn College and be accepted. Information on how to apply can be found here.

If you are accepted into a program we can look at your prior record and see if there are any courses that are equivalent to courses at Boroklyn College. Such courses can be transfered, up to a limit of 3 courses.

Please note that you cannot transfer credits that were used towards a previous degree.

Please also note that you cannot use undergraduate credits for a graduate degree.
