Gordon Moore, the founder of Intel, said in 1965 that:
"The density of transistors in an integrated circuit will double every year."
and then updated his statement after 10 years, saying that:
"The density of silicon chips doubles every 18 months."
This statement is known as Moore's Law and emphasizes the amazing advancement in computer technology: every several months, computer engineers come up with an invention that makes building blocks smaller, which means many of them get to fit into a computer's body, thus making the computer more powerful (and light!)
