The Linux Standard Base (LSB) is a joint project of several Linux distributions under the Linux Foundation, which attempts to extend POSIX and SUS to provide a standard to all Linux distros. This attempt is still unsuccessful.

Despite that, the Linux kernel guarantees the stability of system calls on all Linux distributions.
