Your grade will be based on web page style, ease of use, functionality, and
quality of the content. Since it is a term project, it should look that you
spend quite a while on it.
Here is a check list of things I look for in the design of your site:
- All content pages load properly in both Internet Explorer & Netscape.
Please talk with me if you have a problem with your site looking odd in
one browser or the other.
- All your media files are uploaded and are viewable. If your site is contains
missing images, please upload them.
- Optimize your files. Such as save JPGs so they are not overly large. Croping
and resizing when needed. Use MIDI or MP3 files for music instead of large
WAV files. Use Flash to play the sounds to keep them small.
- Your links work. Broken links loose points. So please test your site's links.
Use the Site, Check Links Sitewide.
- Your pages have to have a title. Don't have a blank or "untitled document"
titles for pages.
- Your colors are not hard to read. If you have a blue background, change
the link color so that it's not a blue link. The same for visited link color
as well.
In order to get in the 95 to 100% range, you'll need to do extra things that
I'm not asking for to make it really professional.
Such as use the ALT tag for images that are menu choices.
I'll come up with other criteria as the term progresses as I see the mistakes
that the class makes.
