Important Information
This course requires department approval for permission to the course. Begin your request by filling out the online form linked above.
After you submit the form, it will take some time for your request to be reviewed manually by human eye, by someone who is juggling multiple responsibiilties, so awaiting results of your request can take several weeks; the schedule listed below will give you a sense of generally when you can expect to hear back. Providing detailed, accurate information with your permission request will help with ensuring that it only needs to be reviewed once. Submitting the form multiple times is fine, your most recent submission will be the one reviewed.
Please be advised that permission is prioritized to graduating seniors with an internship or supervised project. A
supervised project means having
both a project and supervisor. Please see the
Resources page for a list of pre-approved projects along with a list of characteristics of an appropriate project and supervisor. Your supervisor can be anyone with at least 12 months full time experience. If you are coming up with your own project idea, your supervisor must be someone currently working in the field.
All sections are treated as one large cohort, sections will be randomly assigned.
Group projects are allowed. Groups can be composed of members enrolled in any section. All members of the group who would like to be enrolled in CISC 4900 should submit a form.
Please be patient while waiting for your permission request to be reviewed, it takes time to manually review each request. The schedule for when you can expect to be notified is shown below.
When permission is granted, you'll be given notice that you can register along with a specific section; you will be able to register for the section you've been given permission to enroll in via CUNYFirst.
